Kyoorius, in association with D&AD, announced the winners of the 2015 Kyoorius Design Awards at the awards night at the Grand Hyatt in Goa.

Held on the final evening of Kyoorius Designyatra, the event saw over 1,500 creative professionals, students and clients from across India in attendance, including conference delegates as well as speakers along with awards nominees.

A total number of 488 entries were submitted across 10 categories – Branding & Identity, Design for Packaging, Design for Communication, Design for Space, Design for Books, Design for Editorial, Design Craft, Writing for Design, Product Design, and Design for Good. The 80 In-Book winners were also nominees for Blue Elephants, and the jury awarded a total of 29 Blue Elephants and two Black Elephants.

Alok Nanda and Company, Studio Eksaat, Thought Blurb, Guerilla Art and Design, Out of the Box, Creativeland Asia, Ogilvy & Mather, Landor, Codesign Brand Consultants, Karigari Design Inc., Ek Type, TSK Design and Rayden Design Studio were among the In-Book winners at the 2015 Kyoorius Design Awards.

The 29 Blue Elephant winners included Thought Blurb, Out of the Box, Sisterconcern, Open Strategy and Design, J. Walter Thompson, Ogilvy & Mather, Landor, MuseLab, Studio Lotus, TBWA/India, TenArt, Star India, Godrej Properties, Open Strategy and Design, Guerilla Art and Design and Ek Type.

Two Black Elephants were awarded to outstanding work that cut across categories, both in terms of concept and execution, which the judges deemed to be exceptional across all the work entered.

Guerilla Art and Design was awarded a Black Elephant for 'Tihar Jail', a touching project where Guerilla worked with local sign painters to illustrate an emotional poem written by one of the inmates on the four walls of the prison. As part of the St+Art Delhi Festival, Guerilla, led by designer Hanif Kureshi, worked with the Delhi Government and the jail wardens, making it a groundbreaking collaboration.

TBWA\India was awarded a Black Elephant for 'Rakhis from Aarey', a campaign against the BMC's decision to cut down the verdant Aarey Colony in Mumbai to 14 per cent of its current size of about 1619 hectares. Aarey Colony is one of the last few green spaces in Mumbai and home to wildlife and vegetation. TBWA created letters on behalf of the trees and rakhis made from discarded material of the same trees, which were sent out to 2,000 influencers.

It's been another rewarding year at the Kyoorius Design Awards, and we're happy to see the number of entries grow as well as the quality of work mature with each year. Our winners can confidently stand up against some of the best international work, thanks to the rigorous standards and judging criteria laid down by D&AD and Kyoorius. We are committed to nurturing and stimulating Indian creative talent through the awards, which help to fund our educational initiatives.”
