New shows, new channels, new VOD services, and a news channel in the offing – Dr Subhash Chandra's Zee Group has been in the thick of action ushering in fresh content and concepts, even refurbishing content across various genres.
Come September, Zee Entertainment Enterprises will give a new identity to its 24x7 food channel, Zee Khana Khazana.
According to industry sources, Zee is all set to rebrand Zee Khana Khazana from mid-September, where the network is expected to do away with the Khana Khazana name and adopt a new identity, tentatively titled 'Zee Food +'.
A source close to the development, informed BestMediaInfo, com, “Zee Khana Khazana will be revamped somewhere in mid-September. An announcement in this regard will take place on September 4, 2015, and the revamped Zee Khana Khazana, under a new name, will be unveiled some five or ten days later. There will be new shows, while the popular existing shows will be presented in a new avatar. Zee Group Chairman Dr Subhash Chandra himself is likely to be present for the announcement.”
A key official confirmed that there would be “a major announcement soon”, but added, “I wouldn't really call it revamping. It could also turn out to be the launch of a new channel. Beyond this, I've got nothing to say.”
When contacted, Zee Khana Khazana Business Head Amit Nair neither confirmed nor denied the development. All that he stated through a text message was that it would be a much larger project.
For the record, Zee Khana Khazana was launched on December 8, 2010. In 2013, Zee had refreshed the food channel with a slew of new shows.
