Shahrukh Khan to be guest of honour at inaugural session of IAA Silver Jubilee Summit

The three-day Summit is being held in Kochi between September 3 and 5 with the sub theme of ‘Change is shaping the Future!’

The International Advertising Association (IAA) – India Chapter is all set to celebrate its Silver Jubilee with a three-day Summit at the Le Meridian Convention Center, Kochi between September 3 and 5, 2015. Under the overall theme of ‘What’s Coming Next’ of IAA Global, this Summit will have a sub theme of ‘Change is shaping the Future!’

“This will probably be the largest event ever in the field of marketing and communications in Kerala,” declared Srinivasan Swamy, President of India Chapter of International Advertising Association.

The three-day event will bring together the best minds in the fields of marketing and advertising, as well as advertising icons that have been part of the growth of many brands. They will discuss, debate, interact, offer thoughts and experiences, and provide some pointers on the future of marketing and advertising in the coming years. Eighteen business sessions have been planned on a variety of subjects.

Among speakers who have confirmed participation are two advertising icons and brand ambassadors of 25 years – Shahrukh Khan and Sachin Tendulkar. They will talk about their experience as brand custodians rather than about films or cricket. Then there is Arnab Goswami, Editor & Chief, Times Now, who rewrote the rules of TV journalism in India. Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev will talk about the marvels of the mind as it relates to marketing communications.

The Summit will see 11 international speakers sharing their insights, including Jeffrey Cole, Director, Centre for the Digital Future, from Los Angeles; Cindy Gallop, Founder & Chairman, BBH in USA, who is passionate about #IfWeRantheWorld and #MakeLoveNotPorn; Ralph Simon, Chairman & CEO, Mobilium Global; Paul McCarthy, author of ‘Online Gravity’ and an expert on technology that is shaping the world; Rob Sherlock, Worldwide Executive Creative Director of ADK, Japan, and more.

Swamy added, “All of us have attended conferences in Mumbai and Delhi and even Goa. But there is a different rhythm about it being held in Kochi – the weather, the warmth of the people, the backwaters – an ideal place to hold a Summit for over 1,000 delegates, a number we expect from across India and of course Kerala.”

Pradeep Guha, Chairman, IAA Silver Jubilee Summit, said, “I was actively involved in AdAsia of Jaipur (2003) and Delhi (2011). As Chairman of AFAA, I was involved in AdAsia in Hanoi (2013). As IAA Global Executive Committee Member and IAA Area Director (Asia Pacific), I have been involved in many global events too.  This event in Kochi is amongst the best I have been involved in, in terms of content, quality of speakers and entertainment planned.  There is something in it for everyone.”
