HT Media Group has appointed Mahesh Krishnan as the overall head of the Media Marketing function. He will be designated as Chief Revenue Officer – Print, and will report to Benoy Roychowdhury, Executive Director, HT Media Group. Krishnan will be accountable for the overall revenue delivery for the company and will also manage customer relationships with large customers and drive system and process improvements.

With the appointment of Krishnan as CRO, Vishal Chaddha, Business Head – Media Marketing, will be moving into a new role soon.

Sujoy Ghosh, who currently oversees the West & South Media Marketing Revenue function, will report to Krishnan. Ambarish Bandyopadhyay (Head HH Revenue) and Ashok Bindra (COO Mint) will now functionally report to Krishnan while continuing to report to their respective Business Heads.

Arun Anant, Director Revenue and Strategy, will continue to report to Roychowdhury.

Krishnan is a PGDM from IIM Bangalore and brings with him over 26 years of  experience in several Indian and multinational companies. His last role was CEO and MD of Geosansar Advisors, a Hyderabad-based startup working in the area of financial inclusion in urban India.

Prior to Geosansar, Krishnan was senior Vice-President at Samsung India where he headed the Rs 6,000-crore home appliances and air-conditioner business. During his stint with Samsung, he led product development efforts and launched products in large categories like washing machines and refrigerators. He also drove significant restructuring initiatives with the Sales organization and improved market working methods and practices of the sales force.

Krishnan had joined Samsung in 2010 from Philips Electronics India where was Vice- President and SO Leader. He headed the Rs 1,000-crore Consumer Lifestyle business,  which included a large range of products from Personal Care to Television and Multimedia. During his stint with Philips, Krishnan personally led two mergers and acquisition projects. He was also responsible for divestment of the Philips television business to Videocon.

Earlier companies where Krishnan has held senior Sales, Marketing or Profit Centre Head positions include Goodyear, General Mills and ITC Agro.
