Zee Zindagi, the Hindi/ Urdu GEC that airs syndicated content from Pakistan, is set to usher in fresh programming in the coming months. This rejig of programming will not only see a slew of new shows, but the channel will now have Indian produced content as well.

Pakistani actress Mahira khan, who was earlier seen in Zindagi show 'Humsafar', returns to the network with a new show, titled 'Shehr-e-Zaat', which revolves around a day dreamer Falak, who finds herself on the path of self-discovery. It's the story of a girl who after facing bitter realities learns the true purpose of her life.

The show is slated to go on air from August 13 and will air every Monday to Saturday at 8.00 pm. Zindagi currently airs the Fawad Khan-starrer 'Aaja Sajna Miliye' this time slot.

From August 9, the channel will also see the premiere of its reality show, 'Dil Se... Shukriya'. Produced by Frames Production, the weekly show will air every Sunday at 8.00 pm.

A source close to the development informed, “Most shows on Zindagi are finite in nature, usually spanning around 35 episodes. And so they will be replaced by new shows. Starting August, Zindagi will see five new fiction shows and a reality show. The channel will also have shows by Indian productions. Foremost among them is a fiction show by Balaji Telefilms and the reality show 'Shukriya' by Frame Productions.”

Zindagi Business Head Priyanka Dutta couldn't be reached for comments at the time of filing this report.
