Rohit Ohri, who was appointed CEO of Dentsu Asia Pacific (ex-Japan) covering all markets in the region outside of Dentsu's home territory, early last month, has put in his papers. He had relocated to Singapore for this assignment.
An official Dentsu statement said: “Rohit Ohri, CEO Dentsu Asia Pacific (ex Japan), has resigned after four years at the company. He has made a great contribution and we thank him for that. New leadership of Dentsu brands in Asia Pacific will be announced in due course.”
Ohri joined Dentsu India Group in June 2011 as Executive Chairman. He was in charge of spearheading all Dentsu India Group companies and the India business.
Ohri has nearly 29 years of experience in advertising communications, 21 of which were spent at JWT India. Following his very successful seven-year stint as head of the PepsiCo–JWT relationship in Central Asia, he was designated Managing Partner for JWT Delhi in 2005. Ohri has led the enormous success of JWT's Delhi Office, making it the largest and most profitable branch in Asia Pacific, and one of the top ten JWT offices globally.
