News Watch: AajTak returns to No. 1 position; News X storms to second spot
Times Now retains No. 1 position with convincing margin. India TV slips to No. 2 position after two weeks

The fierce battle for No. 1 Hindi news channel continued in Week 29 of BARC India ratings as AajTak made a comeback at the top position after two weeks. India TV was pushed down to No. 2, followed by ABP News at No. 3.
According to select data made available by BARC for Week 29 (July 18 – July 24) for HSM, 1L+ Individuals, AajTak regained the top spot with 39,591 TVT, while India TV stood second with 38,672 TVT. ABP News gained in viewership from last week but stayed third with 30,053 TVT.
Week 29 of the BARC ratings have thrown a surprise change in pecking order with News X jumping ahead of the likes of India Today TV and CNN-IBN to take the second spot. However, Times Now stayed at the top, widening the lead margin over the next channel.
Times Now continued to squash all competition with a staggering 568 TVTs (last week 374 TVTs), while News X rose to second spot with 255 TVTs. India Today TV garnered a gross rating of 215 TVTs (TG: All India : NCCS AB : Males 22+ : Week 27 : Individuals : C&S 1Lac+).
As for the English Business news channels, the pecking order remained intact. Week 29 of the BARC ratings (All India : NCCS AB : Males 22+ : Individuals : C&S 1Lac+) saw CNBC-TV18 ruling the roost with 509 TVTS, followed by ET Now (297 TVT). NDTV Profit and NDTV Prime was at a distant third with just 40 TVTs.
In the Hindi Business news segment, CNBC Awaaz remained unchallenged at the top spot with 509 TVTs. Its only competitor, Zee Business, was second with 349 TVTs (TG: 6 Mega Cities : NCCS AB : Males 22+ : Individuals : C&S 1Lac+).
