Online furniture retail market Urban Ladder recently rolled out an out-of-home campaign that innovatively uses airport media to highlight the solutions it proposes – to fit everyday objects and utilities into smaller spaces, all the while keeping a relaxing and homely feel. The campaign has been executed by JCDecaux.

Currently being carried out at the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA), Bangalore, the brand has handpicked a network of hanging banners and mini totem at the domestic departure lounge.

With an aim to create awareness about the brand by letting people experience the actual product, the brand has also placed some of its best-selling chairs on display at the lounge.

By placing the creative on the hanging banner, the brand claims to be reaching 100 per cent domestic departure traffic, while the showcase on the mini totem is further augmenting the message reach by covering both international and domestic traffic.

“Airports are high visibility area, especially when passengers have enough time to sit after security check in and before boarding, which makes it a perfect location to capture attention. Placing the actual product for people to experience it correctly serves the purpose of our campaign,” said Manu Prasad, Director - Brand Marketing at Urban Ladder.

Serving as the gateway to South India, KIA handled over 14.38 million passengers in 2014. Currently the third busiest in the country, the airport saw domestic air traffic movements increased by 15.4 per cent to 110,773, while international movements rose to 20,330.

JCDecaux, the advertising concessionaire of KIAB, specialises in innovative branding concepts and has carried out several campaigns, including the recent product display zones by Fiat, Blackberry and Sony.
