Dentsu India Group has announced the appointment of Vipul Thakkar as the National Creative Director of Dentsu Communications. Thakkar moves from DDB Mudra Group, where he was Creative Head - South & East.

An advertising professional with over 19 years of experience, Thakkar has created work for a wide variety of brands in categories ranging from lifestyle, finance, beverages to fashion and FMCG. At DDB Mudra he was responsible for some iconic work on Royal Challenge, McDowell's No.1, TTK Prestige, Peter England and Jos Alukkas. Prior to DDB Mudra, he was at Ogilvy Bangalore, where he created some brilliant work for ITC Bingo, Sunfeast Yippee, Allen Solly, MTR and Titan watches.

At Dentsu Communications he will work towards strengthening the agency's southern network and expanding the Mumbai operation. His appointment is part of a broader strategy to strengthen the group's creative caliber.

Thakkar has won over 40 metals at Abbys, in both print and TV categories, besides the coveted AsiaPacific Adfest, a Spikes and a Kancil. He has also won the Olive Crown Award, The Agency of the Year at The Cochin Advertising Club's Pepper Awards and over two dozen metals at The Bangalore Advertising Club's Big Bang Awards.
