Tarun Rai, Chief Executive Officer of World Wide Media (WWM), has decided to move on from the organisation after a stint of more than seven years. Deepak Lamba, President, Bennett, Coleman and Co. Ltd (BCCL), will be replacing him.

Rai has confirmed the news to Best Media Info and has described his stint with WWM as “a terrific one” for both him and the company. When asked about his future plans, he said, “I haven't decided yet, but probably within a month you will get to know where I am heading to.”

He joined WWM in 2008 when it was a new 50:50 joint venture of The Times of India Group and BBC Worldwide. It had just four magazines in its portfolio and was aiming to become a serious magazine player. Today it has not only become the leading magazine publisher in the country but is also at the forefront of many of the new initiatives the industry has seen.

Rai has also been President of the Association of Indian Magazines (AIM). Before joining WWM, he was Managing Partner at JWT.

Lamba has been with the Times Group for almost three years.  Before this, he was the Business Head of Bloomberg UTV from January 2010 - April 2012. From 2006 to 2010, he was Director of Viacom Brand Solutions.
