Durex has released a video titled 'Sexperiment on the Streets - Durex MTV Rex Talk' which is a social experiment executed by the agency The Glitch. The insight behind this execution is based on the fact that most people do not talk openly about sex and thus, the information passed around sex is often inaccurate and completely untrue.
Sharing his thoughts behind the initiative, Varun Duggirala, Co-founder & Business Head, The Glitch, commented, “The brief was to check people's perceptions and knowledge about safe sex. It was to bring about awareness on safe sex in an entertaining manner.”
Adding to this, he said, “It was not an easy task, a lot of people are hesitant to speak about sex, especially when they know it's on camera and going to come out as a public video. That was the main challenge.”
The video thus tests people's knowledge of sex through a series of true/false questions. It highlights the tabooed nature of sex and catches people off-guard giving some very candid reactions. It also aims at educating people about the misconceptions they may be holding on to about sex. The reactions varied from surprise and awkward giggling, to outrage and refusal to answer the questions.
