In recent months there has been a spate of resignations from Network18 Group, post its acquisition by Reliance Industries. The exits have been from both managerial and editorial positions. The Group's Head of Operations and Chief Technology Officer, Piyush Gupta, is the latest to exit the company.

When contacted Gupta confirmed his resignation but declined to delve into it. “I can only confirm the news and not comment further as things are still under process,” he said.

Gupta has been with Network18 Group for almost 15 years. He has been the key driver in setting up the work processes and technology within the group. He has headed operations and technology development for CNBC TV18, CNBC Awaaz, CNN-IBN, HomeShop18 and Colors. He has also worked in various operations teams of Viacom, including MTV, Nick and Vh1.

A while back, BestMediaInfo.com had reported the resignation of Alok Nair, Revenue Head of CNBC TV18. In May 2014, Network18's CEO, B Sai Kumar, left the company, followed by COO Ajay Chacko. Then, in July, Editor-in-Chief Rajdeep Sardesai and Deputy Editor Sagarika Ghose decided to move on. Durga Raghunath, who was CEO of Network18 Digital, followed suit. Sanjay Dua, too, resigned in August from the position of CEO, Network18 Media. There has been a slew of exits from the mid and lower echelons as well.
