National Energy Conservation Day in India is celebrated every year to make people aware about the importance of energy and the need to save it. On this occasion, Ogilvy India has created a campaign titled 'Bijli Bachao, Desh Banao' to highlight the message that one should use energy efficiently and not waste it, because it is essential to save it for future usage. The fact that energy conservation has to be rooted in the behaviour of every human being is the crux of the communication.
The TVC shows kids switching off every switch that doesn't need to be on. It is the children who are teaching their parents and teachers this simple lesson of saving energy. After all, children are the future of the country. The film has been shot by Nitin Pradhan, who is the Director of Curious.
Commenting on the campaign, Piyush Pandey, Executive Chairman & Creative Director, Ogilvy & Mather, South Asia, said, “The idea of using kids was in keeping in line with the brief. I believe kids are the future and if they get it right, we can quite literally look at a brighter future.”
