Himalaya Drug Company has rolled out a new television campaign for its Anti Hair Fall Shampoo. The TVC, conceptualised by Soho Square, captures a woman's multiple attempts to control hair fall before arriving at a definite solution.
The commercial opens at a college campus where the protagonist is complimented for her healthy and lustrous hair. She then goes into a flashback mode and tells viewers what all she went through to achieve this beautiful hair. She narrates the horrendous experience every time she brushed her hair and how she got influenced by the various shampoo advertisements and home remedies. When nothing worked, she also went to the extent of trimming her hair short in the belief that her hair fall might reduce.
Finally, a friend recommended that she try Himalaya's Anti Hair Fall Shampoo. The result was marvellous and there was an immediate reduction in her hair fall. At the end, she swears that she will stop experimenting with her hair and it ends with the voiceover saying: 'Ab Apne baalo ke saath koi galti nahi.'
Shenaz Bapooji, Head of Office, Soho Square, said, “Consumer research revealed that hair fall is one of the biggest problems for women, and no product today has a ready solution at hand for it. The message of the film is simple and very true to the Himalaya way of telling consumers to try Himalaya Anti Hair Fall Shampoo first – because you know it works!”
Rajesh Krishnamurthy, Business Head – Consumer Products Division, Himalaya Drug Company, said, “Hair care category is one of the largest personal care categories in India growing at 9 per cent and the estimated size of the anti-hair fall category is Rs 1,400 crore. Himalaya Shampoos enjoy a strong equity in the South with 4.5 per cent market share. We have launched the whole range of Himalaya Shampoos with an improved formula and new packaging graphics.
