TimesCity.com, a Times Internet company, has acquired Dineout.co.in. This acquisition will allow all TimesCity visitors to make online restaurant reservations and make their dine-out experience more fulfilling than ever before.
dineout.co.in is a table reservation platform which enables consumers to book a table either online or through the phone at their favourite restaurants in town, while availing themselves of exciting discounts. Currently, Dineout is focused on restaurants in Delhi-NCR and Mumbai, where they have delighted over 200,000 diners. Dineout is also loved by restaurants for bringing in engaged diners who love dining out and discovering new places.
“It is a great acquisition for TimesCity.com as the team at Dineout has built a great platform that enables consumers to save time, money, and get a special experience when they dine out. The team has executed a tough proposition of cracking the problem of connecting diners with available seats at great restaurants. Our vision of delivering a full service experience from discovery to destination comes a step closer to fruition,” said Miten Sampat, Business Head at TimesCity
Ankit Mehrotra, one of the four founders of Dineout, said, “Our mission over the last two years has been to ensure that each and every customer that books through Dineout has a fantastic dining experience. Dineout was already powering table reservations for TimesCity, and merging with them was a natural progression for us, as together the two entities with the same vision will be able to complete the loop by enabling discovery and fulfilment on a single platform.”
This acquisition empowers TimesCity to grow from a preferred recommendation destination for a user to a comprehensive fulfilment service. One can now simply book a table while exploring places to eat while the other alliance partnerships of TimesCity.com allow them to order food, buy event tickets, find and avail themselves of offers/deals in addition to discovery.
“The Dineout team is a great set of entrepreneurs, and we're excited to offer something to Indian consumers that isn't really available on this scale anywhere else. TimesCity is truly full-service, helping users find things to do or places to eat, and actually helping you book the transaction,” said Satyan Gajwani, CEO, Times Internet.
TimesCity is a platform for our community of users to explore and discover new restaurants, nightlife, movies and events in their city. TimesCity is available on the web (www.timescity.com), mobile (m.timescity.com) and mobile apps (Android, iOS, Nokia X).
It currently operates out of 11 cities in India with over 47,000 restaurants listed, and has around 2 million unique visitors in a month. Dineout also provides an electronic reservation book to the restaurants, which provides them an effective way to manage their bookings in real-time and also enhance their ROI.
