Saurabh Dasgupta, Innocean Worldwide India's Executive Creative Director, has just been appointed to the Grand Jury of internationally renowned 2014 AME Awards for Advertising and Marketing Effectiveness. Dasgupta, a winner of numerous international and domestic awards, has been doing the jury duties for New York Festival, the Globe Awards, Summit International and PMAA for sometime in the recent past.
Aditya Kanthy, Senior Vice-President, DDB Mudra, Mumbai, is the other Indian on the AME Grand Jury this year. He currently leads DDB Mudra's planning team. He has contributed to the success of some of India's most trusted brands including Johnson & Johnson, LIC, Big Bazaar, Godrej, The Economic Times, Dabur and ITC.
Dasgupta said, “These jury-ships are a great learning experience apart from providing an opportunity to adjudicate on the relative merits of various cutting-edge ideas across cultural contexts and geographies. I always emerge enriched, inspired and enlightened from such experiences.”
Founded in 1994 and operating internationally from day one, the AME Awards for advertising and marketing effectiveness honours work that demonstrates ground-breaking solutions to challenging marketing problems. Winning campaigns address a challenge in the marketplace, utilize outstanding creative elements, and incorporate a thorough marketing plan to deliver a successful execution; they exhibit specific marketing goals and objectives accomplished through creative execution and strategic planning.
Echoing the joyous mood at Innocean Worldwide India, Vivek Srivastava, Joint Managing Director, commented, “This is a tribute to Saurabh's stature as an erudite creative professional. His humility masks his acumen and creative skills. We are proud to have him as a key member of our team.”
The Grand Jury comprises top interactive and multidisciplinary marketers, media planners, strategy directors, social media experts, and creative directors from all over the world. For the first two rounds of judging, the jury is divided by region (North America, Latin America, Europe, Middle East & Africa, and Asia Pacific), allowing each entry to be reviewed in its social, economic, and cultural context to determine the Shortlist and Medalists. This round also decides the AME Green Award winner—the highest scoring, Gold-winning entry for a company whose emphasis is on resource conservation and negative environmental impact. For the third and final round of judging, the jury comes together as one international panel to determine the Platinum winners for each region from amongst the Gold Award winners. The campaign from this round that earns the highest score is awarded the highest honour in the AME Awards, the AME Grand.
Campaigns that win an AME Award live well beyond their media buy. Winners are honoured through the Winners Showcase on AMEAwards.com, as well as through social media, blog posts, and announcements to the international press through our media contacts throughout the world.
