In a meeting held between Indian Newspaper Society (INS) and Media Research Users Council (MRUC), INS clearly told MRUC to withdraw the IRS 2013 findings released last week within 24 hours failing which INS members would not be a part of IRS ever in future. The development was confirmed by the sources present at the meeting held in Delhi today.

According to the sources, the senior management of publications were present at the meeting that took place in two rounds. First, the publishers met to finilise their strategy and later in another meeting with MRUC, they straightaway told MRUC to withdraw the IRS 2013 results. INS members also told MRUC that if the data is not withdrawn in 24 hours, they will not be a part of IRS ever in future.

Sources close to the development told BestMediaInfo.com that now the onus lies on MRUC and Nielsen if they want to redo the entire survey or they will come up with any other solution.
