Say hello to some mind-boggling experience of food cum adventure cum travel this November. Travelxp HD, India's preferred travel channel, is known to engage its audience with clutter-breaking content that attracts viewers across the globe. Keeping up with the excitement, travelxp HD is all set to launch a new show – Food Highway – premiering on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at 8 PM.

Digging deep into the unknown folds of the country, Food Highway presents a journey of a travel enthusiast and a hardcore foodie wandering from town to town taking the highways in search of scrumptious food. This show is a guide to the best eateries that can be found on the highways while travelling along the lengths and breadths of the globe.

The well known, witty foodie from renowned shows like Foodicted and Strictly Street – Rohan – will host 'Food Highway'. Rohan will venture to highways across the globe, exploring the food world on the highway - a journey of savory delights across the world's culinary map.

Opening the first season of the show on an Indian note, the show ventures out to National Highway 4 which runs 1,235 km from Mumbai to Chennai. From Vada Pav of Mumbai to Special Mutton Rann on Western Express Highway to Misal Pav of Pune to Kandi pedas of Satara to Tamda Pandra Rassa of Kolhapur to Kundaa of Belgaum to Ragi balls in Chitradurga to South Indian delicacies in Bengaluru to Grills in Chennai, the journey encompasses food, culture and essence of every place.

The show will rove out not only to places in India but also across the globe showcasing confluence of cultures and exploring a culinary paradise with Rohan.

Nisha Chothani, CEO, travelxp HD, commented, “The television landscape is changing rapidly with digitisation and there is increasing demand for premium content. Travel and lifestyle is emerging as a genre with great potential. Our effort is to bridge this gap by offering a premium product which caters to the evolving Indian palate. Through this, we are looking forward to a higher engagement with our audience to a deeper level through a new programming line-up which is both relevant and appealing.”

“We realised that the food world on highway is altogether a different culinary world which is less known. So we hunted for the non-franchised, sleeves-up food made by cooks on the highways for our viewers. This show guides you to such eateries on various highways across the globe that gives you the taste of unadulterated local flavors of a place. Food Highway is not a food show but a show which is a fine amalgamation of experiencing food, travel, thrill and the ruggedness of a journey. It is long rumoured that every 20 km on the highway, not only people, tradition and culture change, but also their food habits. Every state, village and town has a lot of character which reflects in the taste of their food and their style of cooking. We are out to captivate these flavours for our viewers,” commented host Rohan.

Travelxp HD started in 2011 as India's first high definition travel channel with the largest HD library of travel content across the world. The entire content is shot in native HD and in English with hosts from across the globe, thereby providing a truly International look and feel of the geographies covered.
