GEC Watch: Zee TV dislodges Colors from No. 2; SAB overtakes Life OK

Star Plus adds maximum viewership followed by SAB in Week 42. No relief for other GECs post Navratri festival

After witnessing sharp decline in viewership due to Navratri festival last week, Star Plus not only recovered but added maximum viewers in Week 42 to expand the lead margin from No. 2 channel to a viewership of 108 million. SAB TV recovered its viewership lost during Navratri week. While Zee TV held its viewership, Colors, Sony and Life OK lost further viewership in this week.

The week also witnessed Zee TV being clear No. 2 channel dislodging Colors while SAB TV overtook Life OK to become No. 4 GEC.

According to the TVT data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 42 (October 13 – October 19) for CS 4+, HSM markets, Star Plus is the distant leader followed by Zee TV at No. 2 and Colors at No. 3. SAB TV took No. 4 position pushing Life OK at No. 5. Further loss in viewership pushed Sony again at No. 6.

Star Plus added maximum 52 million in its Gross TVT and recorded 517 million TVTs with a relative share of 23.09% (last week 465 million TVTs with 20.86% relative share).

Zee TV held its viewers and dislodged Colors from No. 2 position by adding just 2 million TVTs this week. The channel fetched 409 million TVTs with 18.28% relative share. The channel had 407 million TVTs with relative share of 18.26% last week.

Colors lost viewership by 22 million and slipped to No. 3 position. The channel recorded 384 million TVTs. The channel had relative share of 17.17% (last week 407 million TVTs with 18.26% relative share).

SAB TV jumped to fourth position this week from last week's No. 6. The channel recorded 319 million TVTs and 14.26% relative share. (last week 292 million TVT and 13.1% relative share).

Life OK was pushed to No. 5 position after losing 28 million TVTs this week. The channel recorded Gross TVT of 317 million against last week's 345 million. The channel's relative share reduced to 14.15% in Week 42 against 15.48% in Week 41.

Sony further lost 21 million viewers and slipped to No. 6 position. The channel recorded Gross TVT of 292 million with 13.05% relative share (last week 313 million TVTs with 14.04% of relative share).
