History TV18's 'Pawn Stars Season 6' opened on a high in Week 35 in the factual entertainment genre, according to TAM data shared by the channel for All India, CS AB 15+. The show, which premiered on August 26 in the 10 PM slot, recorded 121 TVTs for the launch episode, the highest for an episode that week. The second highest ranking show, basis episodes, that week was Discovery Channel's 'What Happened Next' which recorded 119 TVTs followed by Discovery's 'Man Vs Wild' at 118 TVTs. Nat Geo's 'Taboo' came in fourth with 116 TVTs.

The top-rating of the launch episode coincided with the Pawn Stars India Tour which saw its leading stars – the father son duo of Rick and Corey Harrison – visit the country as part of a whirlwind promotion tour. Riding on the buzz created by the tour, the channel stacked as many as eight episodes of the show as part of a 'marathon' screening, which appears to have paid healthy dividends.

Sangeetha Aiyer, Head - Marketing and VP, A+E Networks | TV18, commented, “Pawn Stars is one of the biggest factual entertainment shows across the world and we're thrilled that it's weaving its magic here in India as well. I think its enormous success is a reflection of the growing appreciation of world-class programming in India across demographics and markets. More than anything, it shows that audiences across board are thirsting for fresh, varied content and are willing to experiment with different sub-genres and shows. ”
