Hindi news channel Aaj Tak has partnered with the upcoming blockbuster 'Chennai Express'. Baadshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, has separately shot exclusive promos with the channel. These co-branded promos will take up major issues under the brand 'Aaj tak Chennai Express' concerning the nation today, such as public hygiene, civic issues, women safety and the ever adjusting 'common man' amongst a host of the other issue. The cmapign has been conceptualised by Black Pencil.

The intent of the campaign is to find an instant connect with the audiences and raise the issues on the biggest and the most trusted platform of the nation. Aaj Tak has started a special segment in its 'Halla Bol' segment that airs on weekdays at 6 PM. The reporters of the channel are visiting various cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Bhopal, Luckhnow, Patna, to name a few, and are taking up the major issues affecting the livelihood in these cities. Aaj Tak Chennai Express is a medium for the public to raise the issues of the public and to highlight to the authorities responsible for them.

Commenting on the partnership, Vivek Malhotra, Vice-President – Marketing & Strategic Planning & Research, said, “A good campaign has to attract instant attention. I believe this partnership and the treatment of the spot has given it just that. SRK plays a common man who is urging people to take charge and 'Be the Change'. What better platform to say it than India's most credible TV brand.”

It all began with Shah Rukh Khan shooting the exclusive promos of Chennai Express with Aaj Tak. There are three different promos covering issues of Women's Security, Clean City and 'Kindly Adjust' attitude of the nation, thereby emphasising the channel's constant endeavour to highlight the critical societal issues over the years.

The channel has previously done similar campaign with 'Barfi' where Ranbir Kapoor was seen saluting Aaj Tak for its successful completion of 11 years of benchmark leadership. The leading news channel of the nation has continued with its innovative tie-ups and co-branded activity.
