publive-imageRadio City 91.1 FM, India's first private FM radio station, has completed 12 years this month. It has been a pioneer in the industry witnessing many firsts. Be it introducing the first web radio portal or creating innovative marketing practices, Radio City has been a leader in the true sense.

Radio City embarks on the 12th anniversary celebrations with 'I Love My City' – a special initiative across cities celebrating what's special about each city. In Mumbai the FM station has done a 'soundscape' of the city – different areas of Mumbai can be associated with different sounds. Listeners identified the area of the city listening to the sound and won Radio City anniversary special goodies.

The 12th anniversary celebrations come with many more exciting activities in other cities as well, be it Nagpur, where the RJs have taken an oath to do whatever the listeners tell them to do or Bangalore where Radio City captures 91.1 reasons to love Bangalore. The excitement continues on digital with 'Í Love My City' app on Facebook where the channel asks users to identify prominent locations of their city and win prizes

Innovation has been synonymous with Radio City. It is the only media company to be featured in the top 5 'Great Places to Work'. A well-researched system of 'rewards & recognition' ensures that no achievement is left unrecognised.

In a no mean feat, Planetradiocity.com (Radio City's web radio) has launched four new streams in the past one year. The recently concluded Radio City Freedom Awards (RCFA) gives another reason to celebrate. RCFA has been the first of its kind award in the FM radio space which recognised and honoured independent artistes. The response has been overwhelming with more than 700 entries across 8 categories. Earlier this month, PlanetRadiocity.com took to mobile by launching the app 'PlanetRadiocity'. The app features 'Radio City Freedom' along with Radio City PPFs (Pre Produced Features), exclusive videos and interviews.

Apurva Purohit, CEO, Radio City, said, “Radio City has come a long way since it pioneered the concept of private FM radio in India. Be it content, innovative marketing campaigns or web radio, we have ensured that we maintain the highest standards. Our unique identity has managed to etch a permanent mark in the audience psyche. Our employees, the most important resource of our organisation, have always delivered beyond expectations and industry benchmarks.”
