publive-imageThe television viewership data released by TAM after a gap of two weeks has brought many surprises for Hindi general entertainment channels. Beginning with weekday programming in Week 29, Star Plus' Diya Aur Baati, which faced tough competition from Zee TV for the top slot in Week 26, is now comfortably leading the chart. Colors, which had only one show in the top 10 list in Week 26, now has three shows in Week 29.

According to data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 29 of TAM 2013 (July 14 - July 20) for the CS 4+, HSM markets, Star Plus continued to rule the weekday chart with four shows in the top 10 list. Colors held three slots followed by Zee TV with 2 shows and SAB TV with one show.

The weekend programming also witnessed many surprising changes. Colors ruled weekend programming where its shows 'Comedy Night with Kapil' and 'Jhalk Dikhhla Jaa' topped the chart. Another surprise was jump in the ratings of Indian Idol Junior on Sony that overtook once weekend topper DID Super Moms on Zee TV.

Weekday toppers

Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus topped weekday programming chart with distant margin from No. 2. The show fetched an average of 4.5 TVR (last week 3.7).

SAB's Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma jumped to No. 2 position with an average TVR of 3.8 against last week's 3.6 TVR.

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai on Star Plus was at No. 3 this week with 3.4 TVR. Yeh Rishta had 3.0 TVR last week.

Zee TV's Qubool Hai held No. 4 position with an average rating of 3.2 TVR (last week 3.4).

Pyaar Ka Dard Hai on Star Plus was at No. 5 recording an average rating of 3.1 TVR (last week 2.3).

Colors' Balika Vadhu strengthened its position with surge in its ratings to 3.0 TVR against last week's 2.7 TVR.

Colors' fiction show Sasural Simar Ka was at No. 7 with an average rating of 2.9 TVR (last week 1.9).

Star Plus' Saathiya was at No. 8 this week. The show garnered an average of 2.9 TVR (last week 2.7).

Pavitra Rishta on Zee TV was at No. 9 this week. The show fetched an average of 2.2 TVR (last week 2.0).

Colors' third show in the top 10 list was Madhubala with an average rating of 2.2 (last week 2.0).

Weekend toppers

Colors' Comedy Night with Kapil topped weekend programming with 2.7 TVR (last week 2.6).

Sony's crime show, CID, fetched an average TVR of 2.7 (last week 2.5).

Colors' Jhalak Dikhhla Ja improved its average rating in Week 29 and recorded 2.6 TVR (last week 2.3).

Sony's Indian Idol Junior witnessed surge in ratings and recorded 2.2 TVR (last week 1.8).

 

DID Super Moms on Zee TV averaged at 2.1 TVR (last week 2.1).

Sony's other crime show, Crime Patrol, garnered 2.1 TVR this week (last week 1.8).

 

Star Plus dancing reality show India's Dancing Superstar recorded 1.6 TVR (last week 1.6).

 

Fear Files on Zee TV recorded an average TVR of 1.6 (last week 1.6).

Comedy Circus ke Ajoobe on Sony averaged 1.3 TVR (last week 1.5).

Adalat on Sony recorded 1.3 TVR (last week 1.2).

Star Plus' crime fiction, Arjun, recorded 1.0 TVR.
