Daikin Air-conditioning India, close on the heels of the first leg of its successful 'Cool-a-School' campaign, has initiated the second phase of promotions aimed at bringing greater cooling solutions to government schools across the heat affected locations of the country. While the first phase of the campaign involved Daikin India donating five ACs to the Government Senior Secondary School in Neemrana, and sponsoring the costs and maintenance of air-conditioners; going forward the company aims at looking into varied sustainable solutions to help supplement students' quest for education during the relentless summers.

Gearing up to the second phase of the campaign, Daikin India seeks to adopt sustainable measures like Reflective Barriers which bounce harsh light away, Landscaping including planting trees and shrubs to block out sunlight yet allowing airflow, Green Roofs with an efficient layout of plants on the roof to provide insulation and shade amongst others; taking efficient cooling solutions to the students across schools.

Speaking on the initiative, Kanwal Jeet Jawa, MD, Daikin India, said, “At Daikin, we do look beyond business and intend to give back to society our bit. We believe that today's children are going to be the future architects of the society, and to ensure a bright future of them and the society as a whole we must address the issues at the root itself. Through this 'Cool-a-School' campaign wherein we seek to bring efficient air-cooling solutions to the children. Our endeavour also remains to spread awareness about other Do-It-Yourself solutions which one can undertake to keep his/her surroundings cooler. We would feel glad if our sustainable initiatives brings cheer to the children of the school, and helps them become more responsible citizens of the country tomorrow.”

Going forward, Daikin India further intends to reach out to other such summer struck regions in Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and other parts of Rajasthan, and identify schools run by the state governments where there is a need for installation of cooling devices.

It has initiated a unique social media campaign wherein a special YouTube video titled 'Cool-a-School' has been launched to secure greater awareness towards providing relief to students in summer-hit areas. With an aim of adopting a new school after every 1 million “likes”, Daikin seeks to garner more views for the campaign.
