Sunil Mutreja calls it a day at Amar Ujala
He spent six years with the Hindi daily and has been Executive Director for the last two years

Sunil Mutreja, Executive Director at Amar Ujala Publications, has called it a day after spending six years with the fourth largest read Hindi daily. He will remain with the organisation till May 20, 2013. After joining Amar Ujala in 2007 as President - Marketing, Mutreja was elevated to Executive Director in April 2011.
On his decision to move on, Mutreja told BestMediaInfo.com, “I have had an amazing innings in Amar Ujala. Business saw many ups and downs but I am extremely happy that I am leaving the company in very good financial health. I built a great team and enjoyed bringing it up like my own baby. I thank the promoters for giving me all the freedom to manage. During my tenure, the circulation grew from 14 lakh copies to 21 lakh copies and the profitability from Rs 10 crore to Rs 60 crore.”
Mutreja didn't disclose his next destination but said there were a few options that he was actively considering.
With over three decades of experience, Mutreja had joined Amar Ujala from Advertising International Corporation LLC (ADINC), Muscat, where he was CEO for a year. Prior to that, he had done a stint of a little over a year with Dainik Bhaskar.
Having started his career with The Times of India followed by Times TV, Mutreja had also tried his hand at ad film making as CEO of Channel Nine.
