Noida based Vertant Media launched the first matrimonial TV channel, Shagun. The channel will go on air from May 1, 2013. The 24x7 matrimonial channel will be launched initially on the Videocon DTH platform and will be extended to other DTH players later. On the cable platform, it will be available in 15 cities, including Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad and Jaipur, among others.

Anuranjan Jha, Managing Director, Vertent Media, said, “To take this festival known as wedding in India, Shagun, India's first matrimonial TV channel, has come up with an entirely new concept of a wedding. The channel has  feature shows related to wedding, astrology, relationships, shopping, like 'Toh Baat Pakki', 'Gold n Beautiful', 'Janam Janam ka Saath, 'Kundali Bole', 'Zindagi Shadi se Pehle Shadi ke baad', etc.”

Prime time shows like 'Toh Baat Pakki'  and 'Zindagi Shaadi se Pehle Shadi ke Baad' are hosted by TV actresses Manini Mishra, Richa Sony and RJ Priyank Dubey.
