GEC Watch: Star Plus, Zee feel IPL heat; Colors, Sony remain stable

Unlike previous seasons when Max used to be No. 1 during IPL, Star Plus manages to beat Max in the first full week of IPL in Week 15 of TAM 2013

Week 15 (April 7 - April 13) of TAM 2013 was the first full week of IPL and Hindi general entertainment channels have faced the heat. Continuing as the No. 1 GEC, Star Plus witnessed maximum decline followed by Zee TV while Colors, Sony, SAB and Life OK remained stable.

However, unlike previous seasons, Star Plus remained ahead of Sony Max in the first full week of IPL. According to viewership data sourced from TAM subscribers for the CS 4+, HSM markets, Star Plus was at 252 GRPs and Sony Max was at 234 GRPs in Week 15.

Star Plus continued to lead the pack despite losing 32 points and registered 252 GRPs this week (last week 284).

Zee TV lost 22 points in the first full week of IPL and recorded 163 GRPs (last week 185).

Sony Entertainment Television was relatively stable at 160 GRPs this week (last week 164).

Colors was unmoved and recorded 156 GRPs (last week 156).

SAB TV was also stable at 137 GRPs (last week 136).

Life OK has recorded 111 GRPs this week (last week 110).
