publive-imageNew York Festivals International Television & Film Awards®, now in its 56th year of honoring the World's Best TV & Films™, announced the 2013 Finalists. The Grand Jury of award winning television and film industry experts from around the world determined the Finalists from submissions from 50 different countries. Trophies will be presented at the 2013 Television & Film Awards Ceremony on April 9th at the annual NAB Show inLas Vegas.

Finalists in the Drama category include: “WIGS Lauren” WIGS; “Longmire” A&E “Munich 72” ZDF German Television; “Homefront” ITV Studios; “The Last Fine Day” and “In the Prime of Life” WDR – Westdeutscher Rundfunkkoln”; “Jules Verne. A Life Long Journey” Film.UA; “Isabel” Corporacion RTVE S.A.; “Budoy” ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation; “The Almighty Johnsons Season 2” South Pacific Pictures/MediaWorks - TV3; and “The Princess's Man” KBS (Korean Broadcasting System).  Finalists in Mini-Series include: “Hatfields & McCoys” History; “Moon Embracing the Sun” Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation; “A Wall-less World III” Radio Television Hong Kong; and “Letter to Eva” Corporacion RTVE S.A.

Prime time promos include HBO's “Boardwalk Empire,” “Game of Thrones,” “Girls,” “Luck,” “Real Time with Bill Maher: Bill By Numbers,” “The Newsroom,” “True Blood,” in addition to Showtime's “The Borgias,” “House of Lies,” and “Weeds.” Additional shortlisted prime time promos: CBS News “48 Hours Fall Preview”; BBC Entertainment “Come Dine With Me South Africa Season 2”; NBC  “America's Got

Talent - Magnet” and “The Voice - Vokal Kombat”; Channel OneRussia“What? Where? When?”; Fox International ChannelsItaly“National Geographic Channel | Test Your Brain Campaign”; Astro Entertainment Sdn Bhd “1,000,000 Money Drop – Generic”; and BDA Creative/Canal + “Desperate Housewives Last Season.”

Finalists in the expanding Online Programming categories include: “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” Sony Pictures Television/ Crackle; and “Dexter Early Cuts” and “Fresh Guacamole By Pes” Showtime. Online Special Event entries receiving Finalist status: “The Dalai Lama atSt Paul's” CTN Communications/The John Templeton Foundation; and “Titanoboa Online” Pixeldust Studios/Smithsonian Channel. Online Sports themed Finalists: “Ryan Doyle Travel Story” _wigeCREATION ByLauterbach/ Red Bull Media House; “Portrait of a Fighter: Timothy Bradley” HBO; and “Memorable Moments. The Olympics.” Yahoo! Studios.

Documentary Finalists include: “Half the Sky: Turning  Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide” Show of Force/PBS; “History Detectives” Lion Television/PBS; “Brooklyn Castle” Producers Distribution Agency; “Exposure: The Other Side of Jimmy Savile” ITV Studios; “Defending Casey Anthony” 1895 Films/MSNBC; “Krusada: Bata ng Tahanan” (Child-Headed Homes) ABS-CBN Corporation; “The Hunt for Bin Laden” Keshet – TV; India - “Toxic Trade” ABC-TV, Foreign Correspondent; “Earth From Space” Endemol Worldwide Distribution /Discovery Channel Canada ; “AC360: Kids on Race: The Hidden Picture” CNN; “Falls The Shadow” Sky Arts; “The Line Between Life and Death: Memories of the Great East Japan Earthquake” Fuji Television Network, Inc.; “Nantucket - A Film by Ric Burns” Filmservice International; “The Fabric Of The Cosmos: What is Space?” Pixeldust Studios/ PBS/ NOVA; and “Inside Story” DCGEP/Discovery.

Finalists featuring the 2012 London Olympics in the spotlight: “Olympic Opening Ceremony” created by Done and Dusted/Worldwide moved to the next round along with “London 2012 Olympics - Everyday is Olympics”;Hong KongCable TV; and “London Calling Brand Trail” BBC Worldwide Channels.

ESPN led Sports Finalists with multiple entries including “Outside the Lines”   “SportsCenter” “X Games” and “E: 6o”. MLB Network Finalists include “MLB Network Playoffs: Scrapbook Tease”; and Harold Reynolds, Best Sports Anchor. Both the Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Rams advanced in multiple categories.

Multiple entries in the newly launched Best Performance by an Actress/Actor category achieved Finalist status. Finalists in the Best Actress category include: Julia Stiles in “WIGS' Blue” WIGS; Troian Bellisario in “WIGS' Lauren” WIGS; Maalaala Mo Kaya in “Remembering” ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation.  Finalists for Best Actor: Adam Zwar in “Lowdown” ABCAustralia; and Robert Taylor in “Longmire” A&E.

Musical themed entries moving on to the medal round include: “Paul Simon's Graceland Journey: Under African Skies” A&E “Judy Collins: Live at the Metropolitan Museum of Art” Fogo Labs/ Wildflower Records/ WLIW; “A Capitol Fourth 2012” Capital Concerts, Inc; “Whitney Houston: Her Life, Her Music” CNN; and “London Calling: The Untold Story of British Pop” Arte/ZDF.

Industrial Productions honored with Finalist status: “Dow: Sports and Solutions” Jack Morton/Dow; “CBS This Morning Press Tour” CBS News/ CBS This Morning; “Keeping the Lights On” The Edge Picture Company/ UK Power Networks; “What's Inside” Lockheed Martin Information Technology/Charter; “The Big Picture” Stark Film & Event /Volvo Trucks; “Footprints in the Snow” MAYevents; and “TEDx Abu Dhabi Official Trailer 2012” Ti22 Films/Tedx Abu Dhabi.
