Canon India elevates Alok Bharadwaj as Executive VP
Under his leadership, Canon registered a 20-fold record-breaking expansion over the last 12 years to emerge as a strong imaging industry leader in India

Canon India yesterday announced the promotion of Dr Alok Bharadwaj to the post of Executive Vice-President of its India operations effective January 2013. In his new role as Executive VP of Canon in India, Bharadwaj would be responsible for Canon's business stream comprising operations for all six business groups covering sales, marketing, services & corporate communications. These six business groups include ICP (Camera), CSP (IT peripherals), OIS (Document management & copiers), PPP (Commercial printing), ME (Services), CBS (central business supports).
A seasoned marketing and corporate executive and an old hand at Canon in India, Bharadwaj brings with him a wide spectrum of experience and is a well-known face in the industry with high recognition and respect. Prior to this, he was Senior Vice-President for Canon's India operations. Under his leadership, Canon registered a 20-fold record-breaking expansion over the last 12 years to emerge as a strong imaging industry leader in India. It is looking at revenues of Rs 2,200 crore in 2013.
Bharadwaj is the recipient of various industry level recognitions like 'Best CMO in India' award conferred by CMO Council USA, 'Brand Builder of the Year', 'Most Influential Person in Photography', 'Pride of the Industry Award for Organization Leadership', 'Corporate Executive of the Year', 'Most Favourite Country Manager' and 'Outstanding Global Manager' to name a few. He has been listed in top 100 global influencers by ventureoutsource.com in 2012 and was conferred honorary doctorate in 2011 to signify his leadership and contribution to the industry. He has led Indian IT Hardware industry body MAIT as President and is a Chairman of CII-OA & Imaging Division.
Bharadwaj has been listed in 'The A List' of who's who in media, in 'Top 150 Indian leaders in Tech world' and in “Power Brand Hall of Fame's Most Dynamic Marketing Professional'.
Prior to Canon, Bharadwaj worked in Motorola as head of Channels for India & SAARC, Usha International and Voltas. An industry veteran with over 27 years of experience, he has led initiatives across diverse industries of consumer electronic, telecom, IT, photo & digital publishing.
He is an MBA from the FMS, Delhi and an alumni of the Executive Programme of IMD Lausanne.
