Radio Mirchi's tribute to Bollywood's evergreen legends through its innovative 'Bus Itna Sa Khwab Hai' initiative culminated this Friday. The four-week musical extravaganza concluded with RJ Anmol giving listeners of 'Purani Jeans' an enthralling opportunity to relive the magical moments of Bollywood's popular composer duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal. RJ Anmol and living legend Pyarelal took listeners on his nostalgic life and musical journey through a live show on a bus. Along with a lucky few listeners of Radio Mirchi, it was an emotional experience for RJ Anmol as Pyaarelal shared hitherto interesting and unheard aspects of his professional and personal life.

For the first time in the history of the radio industry, an RJ conducted a show on the move. For four weeks, not only did RJ Anmol take listeners on a musical journey of their favourite retro stars, but also gave them an exclusive opportunity to 'Live' their lives. Starting with Dev Anand, followed by Raj Kapoor and Mohammad Rafi, RJ Anmol concluded the 'Bus Itna Sa Khwab Hai' endeavour with a tribute to Laxmikant-Pyarelal. Taking listeners to various locales that were part of their daily lives and conversing with their families and other close associates every week, RJ Anmol brought forth to the listeners the enigma of four different music and movie virtuosos.

'Bus Itna Sa Khwab Hai' hit the air waves on December 7, 2012 on 'Purani Jeans' where listeners were exhibited with the life story of Dev Anand. RJ Anmol gave them an exclusive chance to visit his office in Khar where they got a glimpse of various gifts he received from his fans. In the following week, listeners were taken on an emotional life journey of the ultimate showman of the millennium, Raj Kapoor. RJ Anmol explored the historic RK Studio, including the set of the first ever dream sequence in Indian Cinema for the movie Awara. The legend's youngest son, Rajiv Kapoor then took the listeners to Bandstand to prevue them to Raj Kapoor's statue.

To commemorate the birth anniversary of Mohammad Rafi, RJ Anmol dedicated the next week to this celebrated singer. He started the show by visiting Rafi Mansion. Fans of Rafi got a glimpse of all the trophies that he was awarded for his astounding contribution to the music industry. Proceeding to Naushad's Mansion, listeners got an opportunity to interact with Raju Naushad who passionately shared stories about his legendary father's association with Rafi. The day ended on a nostalgic note at Bandstand next to Shammi Kapoor's statue. The listeners and fans relieved the terrific partnership the duo shared on silver screen.

For the grand finale of 'Bus Itna Sa Khwab Hai', RJ Anmol took his fans on a memorable journey of the life and times of the legendary Laxmikant-Pyarelal. The ride began at Pyarelal's 'mohalla' of early days where his journey into the musical industry begun. Pyarelal joined in the journey and shared some hitherto unheard stories about his earlier days. What dominated the conversation were the stories of his passion and dedication to music. RJ Anmol took his fans on a momentous tour of Mehmoob Studio including the recording studio of Laxmikant-Pyarelal that molded their professional career. It was an emotional and overwhelming experience for all as this visit marked Pyarelel's landmark entry into the studio after nearly three decades. Joining in the tribute journey was musician Salim of the noted Salim-Sulaiman duo. Pyarelal also obliged all his fans in a rare and overwhelming gesture by playing the violin to much applause and cheer.

Commenting on the initiative, RJ Anmol said, “This idea was on my mind since five years where an RJ hosts a show while travelling in the city with listeners. I am glad to be the first RJ in the country to execute this on-air with my team and listeners. 'Bus Itna Sa khwab Hai' is an initiative to explore the lives of these retro stars. Every week we gave our listeners once in a lifetime opportunity to live the life of one of their favourite artists by being in the same space where these legends lived or worked. We also gave them a chance to meet friends, family, colleagues and other close associates of these stars; and all of this not from studios but while travelling in a bus. This is unarguably the first time in the history of radio industry that a show was conducted live on the move, hopping from one locale to another. I promise to offer more similar opportunity in the coming days.”
