Cheil Worldwide appoints Diana Cawley as Head of Global Retail

She has been Managing Director of Leo Burnett Group’s brand activation shop Arc London

Cheil Worldwide Inc., headquartered in South Korea, has boosted its senior management team with the appointment of Diana Cawley as Head of Global Retail. The company has been pushing hard to further develop retail businesses which give it an integrated shape and allow it to create work that goes beyond traditional advertising. The hire of Cawley is part of an ambitious global growth strategy by Cheil Worldwide.

Cawley, who was Managing Director of Leo Burnett Group’s brand activation shop Arc London, will report to Cheil Worldwide COO Michael Kim. Her remit is to strengthen Cheil’s retail capability across the global network through shopper insights and creative thinking.

Cawley has been in the advertising industry for 26 years, during which time she has worked with a wide range of clients including: Bosch, Coca-Cola, Chrysler Jeep, Halifax, P&G, McDonald’s, Samsung and Tesco.

Cawley’s most notable achievements include numerous business wins including major pan-European accounts such as Kraft Europe and Unicef. She was also responsible for growing Arc over her three-year stint, while growing staff figures from 80 to 145.

Prior to Arc London, Cawley was at Triangle Group London (acquired by Publicis Groupe in 2001), for 16 years, which included a six-year stint as MD of retail agency, Storm.

Cawley is a member of numerous trade body management boards including the Marketing Agencies Association and Institute of Practitioners in Advertising Client Service Group.

Commenting on Cawley’s appointment, Cheil COO Kim said, “Having Diana on board demonstrates our commitment to further focus on retail and shopper marketing, key areas for an integrated agency.
