Now the data for news channels from Week 41 to 52 of 2012 will be released with the Week 1 of 2013 on January 9, 2013
BestMediaInfo Bureau | Delhi | December 21, 2012
After pushing the release of data for 2-3 days due to tremendous pressure from news channels and subsequently a request from Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, TAM is all set to release the data anytime from now except the news channels.
BestMediaInfo.com has learnt from highly placed sources in the industry that the TAM data for 109 news channels across the country has been pushed for three more weeks and now the data for Week 50 to 52 of 2012 will be released with the Week 1 of 2013 on January 9, 2013.
It is also learnt from the sources that the news channels have sent their consent to TAM regarding the new date. Till then, the data for news channels will fall under 'others' category.
When the broadcast industry and advertisers were awaiting the TAM data after 9 weeks on December 19, 2012, TAM Media Research had decided to defer the release of data for 2-3 days.
It may be recalled that in the wake of the impending phase-wise DAS implementation across India, the custodians of TAM Media Research – advertisers (ISA), media agencies (AAAI) and TV broadcasters (IBF) – had arrived at a joint consensus on the need to temporarily defer TAM TV viewing data release for All-India market for a period of nine weeks starting Week 41 (October 7, 2012, Sunday) and ending Week 49 (December 8, 2012). This deferred data was to be released on December 19, 2012 along with data for Week 50 (December 9-15, 2012).
