Star Plus strengthens weekend line-up with Nach Baliye Season 5

Premiering on December 29, 2012, the show will be telecast on every Saturday at 9 pm

Star Plus is coming back with its celebrity dance show, Nach Baliye, with its fifth edition to wow audiences on the weekend. The new season will be a platform to showcase the essence of the show, that when a husband and wife join hands to forge a partnership of equals, the power of the couple becomes unbeatable. 'Vaseline presents Nach Baliye Season 5' will air every Saturday in the 9 PM primetime slot starting 9 pm.

Nachiket Pantvaidya, General Manager, Star Plus, said, “Star Plus has been a pioneer in introducing innovative non-fiction formats on Indian television. Nach Baliye, as a property, has always been very popular with the viewers and we are confident that its return on an exciting and bigger scale will be something they would enjoy. Weekends are all set to get more entertaining with the return of Nach Baliye.”

Star Plus claims that it has chosen to air the show on a weekend slot because they do not want their viewership to be completely women-centric and wish to draw in kids and fathers as well. Pantvaidya said, “This is not an alien show or a show where there are professionals displaying talent. This is a show by people whom the audience knows and connects with.”

Speaking about how Star Plus has evolved the show, Pantvaidya said, “There has been a transition in the reality show being aired, the first season having flagged off on Star One. The press reports more on strife between couples and relationships. We differentiate ourselves from other shows by adding an emotional value to it – the bonding between couples. We will bring to light our proposition 'Rishta Wohi, Soch Nayi' through the Nach Baliye show.”

With reality shows coming of age, Star Plus claimed that it will never stop airing reality shows. There will be some reality show or the other running right through the year.

To promote the show, Star Plus will undertake an on-ground and on-air campaign. The Talaash-e-Baliye campaign will see one winning jodi selected from the masses being a part of the show.

The three judges for this season are Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra; actor and director Sajid Khan, and celebrity choreographer Terrence Lewis.
