One ticket, multiple parties. A party that never ends as it jumps seamlessly from one groovy spot to another. All you have to do is chase the beat as MTV introduces the 'MTV Bloc Party' for the first time in India. And it all starts in the party capital, Mumbai.
With over 20 hours of incredible music and experiences, this promises to be the city's longest party. An integral part of every metropolis in the world, a Bloc Party packs in a multitude of experiences spread across a single city block. So, no more travelling the length and breadth of a city to check out different parties or being stuck at one party spot all evening. One ticket gives you entry into the bloc and after that you hop from one experience to another and take it multiple acts in a single evening.
The MTV Bloc Party is set in the Juhu bloc and brings you the best in dance music from across the globe. There will be DJ Alesso, ranked among the top 20 DJs in the world and named as the EDM artist to watch out for by MTV International. Also performing live will be Deniz Koyu, Jean Elan, Cosmo Klein, Simon Dunmore and Shovel on percussion and many more superstar DJs. MTV Bloc Party is hosted by MTV's very own VJ Nikhil Chinappa and is programmed by Submerge.
The MTV Bloc Party is on January 18 and 19, 2013, right alongside the beach on the lawns of the classic Juhu Hotel which is the central hub of the party. Start your evenings at the Beer Arena, take in the sunset as the early set gets you grooving and then dance your socks off to a live performance from the headlining act of the evening. Post 10 PM, the party moves to three clubs across Juhu. So, this year the party doesn't end with your New Year Eve celebration as the MTV Bloc Party converts Juhu into one big celebration.
The party just goes on and on and on… 20 hours of good times and great music, this is the longest party in the country, something which the party animals of Mumbai crave for. Second, it's a party in the heart of the city. So, no need to make travel plans, no long drives, no booking hotels. And third, this is much more than incredible music. Each act comes with a customised audio visual display, an experience you will not forget.
The gates open on Friday at 5 PM at Central Bloc (Juhu Hotel) in Juhu, right across the beach. Get your all access wrist-band and enjoy the sundown acts by world renowned DJs as they lead you into the main performance of the evening. Post 10 PM the party spills over to the bars and clubs in Night Bloc, where international DJs and India's top EDM artistes play different genres of electronic music at each club. The wrist-band allows you access to all the clubs across Night Bloc.
On Saturday, the gates reopen at 2 PM at the Central Bloc (Juhu Hotel) in Juhu. Unwind with a chilled out beer arena experience right beside the sea and discover new sounds of music. A laid back afternoon with good food, great music, different kinds of beer, chill of sea breeze and bunch of friends slowly transitions into the sundown party which starts at 5 PM. The international headliners take to the stage and present an immersive audio video experience along with live dance music acts. Post 10 PM, hop on a MTV Bloc Party club bus and head to the Night Bloc, choose your club wisely as you will be spoilt for the choice with the list of headlining DJs across the block.
Aditya Swamy, Business Head and EVP, MTV India, said, “Mumbai is always hungry for new experiences. It's a city whose mantra is work hard, party harder. We wanted to create something that gives the people what they want. With over 20 hours of non-stop partying the Bloc Party is something every party animal in Mumbai has dreamed about. And with such an incredible line up of DJ's and an audio visual experience like you have never seen, all you have to do is Chase the Beat and be part of Mumbai's longest party.”
