MediaCom has won the media mandate for Miayas Beverages and Foods. The account is estimated at around Rs 25 crore. Maiyas is probably the fastest growing food company in India. It began operations in 2010.
The product portfolio comprises instant mixes, spices and masalas, savoury snacks, ready-to-eat and frozen foods. Frozen foods will be the major growth driver of the food processing industry in times to come. An investment of Rs 60 crore has been made for a plant spread over four acres that is currently producing instant ready mixes and masalas and will soon produce ready-to-eat foods.
Maiyas has also identified another 18 acres for the second phase of expansion, where they would be investing Rs 40 crore in a plant to produce frozen foods.
Dr P Sadananda Maiya, Director, Maiyas Beverages and Foods, said on the selection of MediaCom, “The passion and rigour shown by MediaCom was really impressive. We are very happy that our brand is in good hands with MediaCom.”
Debraj Tripathy, MD, MediaCom India, commented, “It is a privilege to work with the most promising food company in the country. They have pioneered the ready-to-eat food industry in India. The team is excited and is looking forward to help grow the brand.”
MediaCom is known for its strategic thinking and innovative work and is one of the most awarded media agencies in India. It won the Grand Emvie in 2011 for the world’s first ‘Talking Newspaper’, an innovation it did for Volkswagen. The agency swept the digital display category at Emvies 2012, winning all three medals in the category.
The agency has on its roster clients such as Procter & Gamble, Volkswagen, Skoda, Audi, Dell, Shell, Wrigley, Piaggio and makemytrip.com among others.
