GEC Watch: Star Plus back at No. 1; Zee jumps to No. 2 in Week 51

The No. 1 channel of the last two weeks, Colors, has been pushed to No. 3 this week

The release of TAM data is back with its normal weekly cycle and the viewership data for Week 51 (December 16-22, 2012) has been released today. According to data sourced from TAM subscribers for the CS 4+, HSM markets, the close fight among top Hindi general entertainment channels continues this week. Star Plus is back at the top while the No.1 channel of the last two weeks, Colors, has been pushed to No. 3 this week. Zee TV has surprised all by taking the No. 2 seat. Life OK has also overtaken SAB to become the No. 5 channel in Week 51.

Star Plus has returned to No. 1 position after two weeks by maintaining its last week's GRPs. The channel has recorded 231 GRPs this week (last week 231).

By adding 35 GRPs, Zee TV is No. 2 in Week 51, up from No. 4 in Week 50. The channel recorded 226 GRPs this week (last week 191).

Colors has slipped to No. 3 this week from last week's No. 1. The channel has lost 16 GRPs and recorded 223 GRPs this week (last week 239).

Sony Entertainment Television has also slipped one position to No. 4. The channel has recorded 193 GRPs this week (last week 201).

Life OK has overtaken SAB this week to take No. 5 position by 1 GRP. The channel has added 15 GRPs to record 144 GRPs this week (last week 129).

SAB TV too has added a few points and recorded 143 GRPs this week (last week 140).
