Big FM announces first-ever Odiya Music Awards

Awards to honour indigenous musical talent of the state

92.7 Big FM and Superia Super Fair 2-in-1 Fairness Cream have announced the most definitive recognition platform of the Odiya Music Industry – 'Big Odiya Music Awards 2012'. The awards will honour the contribution of some of the best musical talent in Orissa. In its first year, the awards will present Popular awards across 18 categories and will be judged by not only an eminent panel of judges, but also Big FM listeners from various cities across Odisha.

The jury who will vote to award talent across 11 categories in the Jury Awards include music director-cum-lyricist Swaroop Naik, lyricist Debdas Chhotray, music director Nityashree Ranjan, and senior movie critic Surjeo Deo. Seven categories will be voted by the public.

With categories like Best Odiya Music Director, Best Odiya Playback Singer (male and female), Best Odiya Song of the Year, and Best Odiya Music Composer among others, the jury and Big FM listeners have a tough task before them as they set out to choose the best of the best from the Odiya music industry.  Superia Super Fair 2-in-1 Fairness Cream in a special segment will confer the coveted Talent of the Year Award.

Speaking about the first-ever edition of the Big Odiya Music Awards, Big FM Station Head, Bhubaneswar, G Ravi Kumar, said, “The Big Odiya Music Awards is an effort to provide the Odiya music industry with a unified platform to celebrate the best musical talent in Orissa.
