The new Season also sees several new visitors making it to the Galli, including Anti-Pollution Hero (Pradooshan Roko Hero), the Tooth Fairy and Chamki's counting friend Anki.

Learn as you laugh with your children about sharing and caring, new words, eating and staying healthy, anti pollution, journey to a cultural rich and diverse India and much more.

Talking on the return of the Galli Galli Sim Sim TV series on Doordarshan, Tripurari Sharan, Director General, Doordarshan said, “We are excited about telecasting Galli Galli Sim Sim 's new season on Doordarshan as it is a high quality educational programme for children. Today, children's programming as a whole and educational children's programming is more an exception than the rule. With Galli Galli Sim Sim, Doordarshan is attempting to put together a holistic programming mix for all segments of the population.”

Galli Galli Sim Sim is a widely watched and the only educational program for children age 0-8 broadcast on cable and satellite television channels in India that has demonstrated the tremendous impact of quality early childhood learning. High-quality early childhood education has long-term benefits as it impacts cognitive, social and societal skills and there is enough empirical evidence to substantiate it. The care and education received in the first five years of life provide children the stage for lifelong development paving the path to school readiness, social development and future educational success. Since its debut in 2006, Galli Galli Sim Sim has been helping children prepare for school and life.

Sashwati Banerjee, Managing Director, Sesame Workshop India, said,“We are delighted to be back on Doordarshan, which also means that Galli Galli Sim Sim will now be available on 100% of TV households. As India's first educational programme on TV, GGSS has played a pioneering role in imparting high quality early childhood learning and providing children with a head start in understanding and communicating in the world around them. There is ample research and evidence to demonstrate that children who have been watching Galli Galli Sim Sim have shown 3 times more literacy gains including recognizing and identifying letters and words and naming pictures and are twice as likely to be school ready. ”
