DDB MudraMax has won a Bronze at the recently concluded MAA Globe Awards held in Chicago. The award was won for Uninor's campaign titled 'Rush of Blood'.
The MAAW champions the highest standards of excellence and recognition in the marketing communications industry through the highly successful Globes Awards. The programme, established in 1985, is the industry's leading international recognition programme for the world's most outstanding marketing campaigns. It is the only competition of its kind.
A unique blood donation camp was held at one of the country's largest malls, the Inorbit Mall, in Mumbai. Uninor tied up with Youth for People and The Bombay Rock Association to spread the message of blood donation amongst today's youth. The theory behind combining a rock concert with a blood donation camp was that listening to rock music would increase one's blood circulation, giving one a rush of blood.
On February 25, 2011, between 12 PM – 10 PM, people walked into the mall to donate blood and enjoy live bands of different genres such as rock, Indie, punk, folk, alternative and jazz. Well known bands like Something Relevant, Airport, The False Positives, and Travelling River Band were among the 14 bands that performed throughout the day.
Blood donation stations were put up at two places in the mall. Donor's had to go through a medical examination to confirm if they were eligible for donating blood. The initiative led to 126 bottles of blood being collected to support the cause.
