BBC Top Gear enters Guinness Book of World Records
Top Gear is literally the world's biggest car show after being crowned the world's most widely watched factual TV programme
October 17, 2012
The 2013 edition of the Guinness Book of World Records has certified that BBC Entertainment's Top Gear stars Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May have been watched by audiences in 212 territories around the world from Ghana to Guatemala, Moldova to Myanmar.
Consistently one of BBC Entertainment's most-watched programmes, Top Gear takes the public's passion for cars, strips away the boring statistics, adds enthusiasm, over-the-top fun, thrilling stunts and crazy challenges to bring an entertainment format that is accessible to a broader audience (surprisingly over 40 per cent of Top Gear's viewers are female).
As he accepted the Guinness World Records 2013 book on behalf of the show, Jeremy Clarkson said, "I am very proud to be involved in such a factual programme."
The latest special episode 'Top Gear: 50 Years of Bond Cars' premieres first and exclusively on Friday, November 2, 2012 at 10.00 PM.
