Colors is back with the 6th season of its blockbuster reality show Bigg Boss with a tagline 'Alag Che'. Che denotes Season 6 in Hindi while Alag Che means 'different' in Gujarati. Keeping the strategic shift in content and treatment, the show will be aired everyday at 9 PM starting October 7, 2012. The show promises to be a wholesome family entertainer in its new avatar with Salman Khan delivering a parivarik punch.

Speaking exclusively with BestMediaInfo.com, Raj Nayak, CEO, Colors, said, “While Bigg Boss returns to its original prime time slot of 9 PM in its sixth season, it's all set to expand its reach and attract new viewers to experience the new avatar of the show. Also, Bigg Boss will be the sole reality show running during the weekday primetime that is expected to give an edge to the show.”

Colors is likely to sign the title and other main sponsors soon for Bigg Boss 6 but it seems advertisers will have to shell out more money this time. Said Nayak, “When we are sure that the show will live up to everyone's expectations, we expect our efforts to be appreciated by the advertisers.”

“If Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa is Dancing with the Stars, Bigg Boss is Camping with the Stars! Every season we bring something innovative to the show and to add to the twist this season, we have opened the doors of the Bigg Boss house to the 'aam aadmi' giving them direct access to celebrities and their lifestyles. They will get a chance to rub shoulders with them and emerge as stars in their own right thereafter,” Nayak said at the launch.

Speaking about the host of the show, Salman Khan, Nayak said, “Salman Khan has a universal appeal – he is loved by everybody from a 7-year-old to a 70-year-old. So we are now bringing your favourite star to your living room every week in an 'alag' avatar.”

Speaking on the 'alag' factor this season, Salman Khan said, “Bigg Boss Season 6 will connect with the whole family this time – there will be a lot of fun while watching the 'nok-jhonk' between housemates. Just like every happy family that has different strokes for different folks, Bigg Boss' house will also have 'alag' personalities, along with their quirks and eccentricities. So be ready with your family members to watch these new twists and turns, whether sitting on the couch or while you're at your dinner table.”

With a tagline that promises to be 'Alag Chhe', this season will bring a new set of rules, surprises and elements. Bigg Boss Season 6 comes with a philosophy of keeping it clean and entertaining to ensure maximum fun for the entire family. Any housemate who violates Bigg Boss' rules will be banished to the 'Panic Room' which is yet another 'alag' element this season.

Giving the audience something more to talk about, Bigg Boss Season 6 will not just be about celebrities who will enter the Bigg Boss house. It will also welcome with open arms an 'aam aadmi'. This will give viewers an opportunity to experience the Bigg Boss house from a common man's perspective. Also making this season 'alag' from the previous ones, Bigg Boss will have two charming houseguests – a fish and a talking parrot to give company to the housemates.  Combining all this with the raw energy, intensity and an affable Salman Khan, this season guarantees to take over dinner table conversations and make people, sit, watch and talk about Bigg Boss.

Manisha Sharma, Weekend Programming Head, Colors, said, “This season, Bigg Boss will be the perfect mix of emotion, drama, fun and entertainment. However, what won't be changing is the fact that the contestants will be devoid of what we consider normal in everyday life – a phone, TV, wall clock, etc., and their reactions to being away from all that they consider dear will cause pressure cooker situations which will be interesting to watch. Evolving to exotic beings with the parrot and the fish this year, we hope the show will be a perfect blend of the common man's views and the stars with their starry tantrums.”

Deepak Dhar, Managing Director, Endemol India, which produces the Bigg Boss property, commented, "We have always thrived to innovate and raise the bar. Season after season Bigg Boss has been the talk of town and to maintain the same amount of fanfare we have incorporated a gamut of innovations and new ideas based on our observations and learning from the Bigg Brother format world over. With the inclusion of the common man in the Bigg Boss house, we will present a wholesome family entertainer to viewers.”

Bigg Boss presents the unique combination of reality and real, unscripted drama. It is the ultimate reality show where celebrities from different walks of life are locked in a house for 90 days – with 63 cameras following their every little move 24x7, and Bigg Boss is the ultimate authority in the house who ensures that their stay is anything but comfortable. With this season going cleaner, the Bigg Boss house might just seem a little saner!
