Mumbai’s hottest radio station Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM turned 10 on 25th April and celebrated the occasion with great fervor and merriment. Every year, Radio Mirchi Mumbai commemorates its birthday with a unique initiative that serves to address the needs of an underprivileged section of society. On the completion of its 10th year in Mumbai, Radio Mirchi kick started the ‘Aao Paint Karein’ campaign towards the cause of underprivileged children. Mirchi pledged to brighten the lives of these children by revamping their old school classrooms and painting them in bright and lively colours. Reciprocating the abundant love and affection that Radio Mirchi receives from the city, the station and its RJs took up the task of painting the classrooms of Door Step school, an institution which provides education to slum children and enriches their lives.

The joyous endeavor witnessed hundreds of Mirchi listeners registering for this activity through SMS’s and Facebook. They turned up at the school and painted the classrooms in vibrant colours with the kids, Mirchi team and the RJs! On 25th April, Door Step school became resplendent as everyone lent their imagination to the walls, decorating them with various themes – right from the wonders of the underwater world to the splendor of the solar system!

Also joining in the celebration were child actors Naman Jain and Shriya Sharma of Chillar Party fame who enthusiastically came forward to be a part of Radio Mirchi’s birthday and support the cause. They also indulged in the splash of paint colours and interacted with the school children, while cutting the birthday cake and wishing Mirchi a Happy Birthday.
