MPG appoints Soumya Sarkar as Sr Business Director

Sarkar joins from MEC, where he handled the brands ranging from Nivea, Novartis, Cox & Kings to name a few

MPG India, the flagship brand of Havas Media, has strengthened its Mumbai operations with the appointment of Soumya Sarkar.

Soumya joins the agency as Senior Business Director and will report in to Kunal Jamuar, Executive Director of MPG, West India. In his new role, he will be responsible for managing the planning function across all brands based in Mumbai.

Soumya has more than 10 years of experience in the media planning and he was most recently with MEC, where he spent two years as a Senior Business Director working to brands ranging from Nivea, Novartis, Cox & Kings to name a few . Prior to this he was the Assistant Vice President at Lintas Media Group where he spent six years working on brands including Idea Cellular, Bajaj Auto and UTI Mutual Funds. His previous stints include Starcom, The Media Edge and Carat.

Commenting on the new appointment Mohit Joshi, Managing Director of MPG India, said, “We are pleased to welcome Soumya in the MPG fold. He comes with a solid background in media planning having worked with number of blue chip brands. His presence will be an asset for the Mumbai operations.”

On his appointment, Soumya said, “I am delighted to be joining MPG. The agency has diverse and exciting brands in its portfolio across different categories and I see an enormous potential not only in the offering but the highly energised team under Kunal.”

Few weeks back MPG India had announced the appointment of Ruma Sengupta as Director of Strategy.
