With a record breaking year for entries, the winners of The Festival of Media Global Awards 2012 were announced at a grand awards ceremony in Montreux, Switzerland recently. The Awards aim at rewarding creativity and innovation that is at the heart of effective media communications. The judges, chaired by Michael Donnelly, worldwide interactive marketing director, The Coca-Cola Company, spent two days reviewing the entries and coming to their decisions.
MEC India won the â€˜Creative Use of Media Awardâ€™ for its campaign â€“ Night Hammer â€“ for the brand Colgate. The award for â€˜Best Contribution To A Campaign By A Media Ownerâ€™ went to Gemini TV for Making of a Superstar for the brand Lux. In another category of â€˜Best Use Of Emerging Technologyâ€™, Maxus Bangalore won laurels for creating campaign for Titan HTSE â€“ Â Light powered media for light powered watch.
The Festival of Media Global Awards 2012 saw nine Indian entries being shortlisted. Apart from the winners, there was Mindshare for Pepsi in Best Communications Strategy; Mindshareâ€™s Surf Excel for Best Entertainment platform, and Best Use of Content; Maxus for Vodafone India in the Best Use of Emerging Technology category; MediaCom India for Best Creative use of Media for brand Duracell; and The Effectiveness Award entered by Lodestar UM for Microsoft.
