publive-imageIndependent mobile video service, Vuclip, has revealed the findings of its mobile survey of cola brands in India and globally. Pepsi has emerged as the brand of choice for a dominant 46 per cent of the respondents in India, while 20 per cent of the respondents favoured Coca-Cola. Thums Up was the preferred cola brand for 17 per cent Indians.

The survey included votes of as many as 237,786 mobile phone users from India. A majority of respondents were in the 18-25 year age bracket (45 per cent), while another 27 per cent were under 18 years, and 18 per cent were in the 26-35 years age-group.

Globally, close to 600,000 people participated in the survey from more than 20 countries including the US, Canada, the UK, Mexico, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, UAE, South Africa, Russia, Pakistan, Malaysia and Indonesia. The survey was administered and delivered through Vuclip's mobile site, m.vuclip.com. The survey could be readily filled out from a mobile device, allowed users to opt out, and did not request identifying information from the user.

Said Ashwin Puri, Global Head of Advertising, Vuclip, “With the number of mobile subscribers in India set to reach the billion mark, the mobile phone is fast becoming the de facto source for entertainment, especially among youth. Consumers are spending more and more time interacting with their phones than any other platform. Vuclip's vast network of 30 million monthly active mobile users around the world positions us uniquely to get a pulse of the consumers' brand preferences. Our surveys offer just one example of how we can bring a high level of relevance to brand advertisers and their branding campaigns, helping them reach their consumers. Today, the mobile internet offers an unmatched platform for marketers to maintain and build their brand relevance.”

Vuclip will be unveiling more such insights on mobile handset preferences and dental habits of Indian mobile users at its workshop during the ad:tech New Delhi 2012 conference. The workshop will analyse how massive mobile video consumption is changing consumers' interaction with brands.
