Santosh Padhi appointed to Executive Jury for NYFA 2012

Paddy will be judging for the second consecutive year; this year he will accompany Prasoon Joshi of McCann Worldgroup

New York Festivals International Advertising Awards has appointed Santosh 'Paddy' Padhi, Chief Creative Officer and Co-founder, Taproot India, on the 2012 Executive Jury. Paddy will be judging the advertising awards at New York Festivals (NYF) for the second year in a row. This year he will accompany another Executive Jury from India, Prasoon Joshi, President of McCann Worldgroup South Asia.

Speaking to BestMediaInfo.com, Paddy said, "I consider myself lucky to be part of the elite jury for the second year in a row.”

“It was a first of its kind last year. No award show has ever done it on such a huge scale, where each jury member was like a jury chairman. I remember the last year we debated for three long hours for the Grand Prix, as the judging went on till midnight, which is obvious when you have 30-odd passionate advertising people see the work from different lenses. In such a situation, you can't get anything but the best results," reminisces Paddy.

Also, for the second year in a row, NYF will assemble a “dream team”, an elite group of worldwide creative officers to select the 'World's Best Advertising'. The NYF Executive Jury convenes in New York City on April 28 through May 2, 2012, concluding with the New York Show Awards presentation on Thursday, May 3, 2012.

The New York Show, NYF's two-day series of events, begins on May 2 and will feature creative panel discussions, keynote speakers, networking events, the 2012 Executive Jury Press Conference, exhibits, and the May 3 International Advertising Awards ceremony. All New York Show events and the 2012 awards gala will take place at the landmark New York Public Library Beaux-Arts building located at 455 Fifth Avenue, 40th Street, in New York.

This year, New York Festivals International Advertising Awards has streamlined the competition for efficiency, resulting in a 43 per cent reduction in categories across all competitions. The NYF receives entries from 70 countries and recognises work in all media in the following competitions:  Art/Technique + Technology, Avant-Garde, Collateral, Commercials, Design, Interactive, Hispanic USA Advertising, Integrated Mixed Media, Marketing Effectiveness, New Commercial Director of the Year, Outdoor/Out of Home, Print, Public Relations/Brand Communications, Public Service Announcements, and Student.

The NYF International Advertising Awards' early discount deadline was December 16, and the final deadline is January 27, 2012.
