Aroon Purie steps down from FIPP Chairman; David Hill takes command

Rome to host the next FIPP World Magazine Congress from 23-25 September, 2013

As the curtains drew for the 38th FIPP world Magazine Congress held at New Delhi since last three days, The founding Chairman & Editor-in-Chief of the INDIA TODAY GROUP Aroon Purie stepped down as FIPP chairman after completing his 2 year term. David F. Hill President & CEO IDG International Publishing Services has been elected as the new FIPP chairman for net 2 year.

Additionally, an announcement for the next venue of the congress was made at the last day of the event. The next congress to take place in Rome, Italy from 23-25 September 2013 at the Hilton Cavalieri will be hosted by Mondadori.

Rome has witnessed the congress event around 34 years back in 1977.  Making the announcement during the concluding session, Maurizio Costa, deputy chairman and CEO, Mondadori, Italy said, “We are very proud to have the responsibility to host such a prestigious event in Italy. The change process that involves our world is so rapid and risky that the opportunity for the main international publishers to confront each other becomes more and more important.”

This is the first time that the event took place at India and over 600 delegates from 50 counties had participated in the congress.
