Network18 ropes in Gurmeet Singh as Forbes India CEO
He comes in here from Hindustan Times where he was heading the Mumbai edition.

Gurmeet Singh, former head of the Mumbai edition of the Hindustan Times has joined Network18 Group as CEO – Forbes India, with immediate effect.
In his previous assignment, Gurmeet was instrumental in the emergence of Hindustan Times as the No 2 broadsheet daily in Mumbai and also retaining this position for the last 3 consecutive IRS rounds. Prior to heading the Mumbai edition of Hindustan Times, he was handling ad sales for Hindustan Times and Mint in the West Zone and has been credited for generating record levels of revenue growth at the Mint.
A 1993 batch MBA from FMS Delhi and a university gold medalist in mechanical engineering from Osmania University Hyderabad, Gurmeet started his professional career with FMCG major Marico Industries Limited. After over 5 years of FMCG sales & brand management experience at Marico which included successful alliances with Pepsi & Camlin, he moved on to Sony Music to handle sales & marketing for North Zone. Gurmeet has also worked at the India Today Group, where he was the Business director of Music Today. He expanded the label into the films genre, started a very successful music events division, launched 2 new labels – one for the youth and one in the Economy segment, started the books & home video division and conceptualized the SBUs foray into digital.
