publive-imageAbhra Banerjee, VP Marketing, Century Plyboards (I) Ltd., Kolkata, was felicitated with the 'CMO Asia Award' in the category of "Marketing Professional of the Year" for "Excellence in Branding & Marketing" at a glittering Annual Awards Ceremony of the Asian Chapter held at Suntec City, Singapore on July 22nd 2011. Donovan Neale-May (Executive Director- CMO Council); handed over the award to the winners in different categories.

The award winners ranged from iconic brands like Coca-Cola, Nokia, Microsoft, GE, Godfrey Phillips, Star News etc to maverick Marketing companies like Centuryply, Central Pattana, Smart Telecom; Watsons, etc.

Abhra Banerjee, VP Marketing, Centuryply, said after receiving the award, “This is a great honour for me and I want to congratulate my team who made this happen. This award has recognized the fact that the fundamental principles of Marketing are applicable for every brand in any category; the difference is only in the application of these fundamental principles well.”

“Marketing should elevate itself to that level where it can infuse a seed of a marketer within every employee of the organization. The industry we are in is used to conservative & traditional way of doing business but we have been able to use the fundamental principles of marketing in such a customized manner that it has totally changed the face of the industry,” added Banerjee.

The CMO Asia awards are dedicated to high level knowledge Exchange through Opinion, Leadership & Networking amongst decision makers across industry segments in Asia. The jury at the awards comprises of seasoned professionals from Marketing, Branding, Advertising, Public Relations, Brand Strategy and Corporate Communications. It was represented by 52 countries across Asia.
