NDTV Ltd. is undergoing through top management changes. BestMediaInfo.com has learnt from the highly placed sources within the organization that NDTV will soon announce the changes. According to the information coming from the confirmed sources, Current Group CEO KVL Narayan Rao will be elevated to Executive Vice Chairman role at the NDTV Ltd. while Vikram Chandra will be replacing him as Group CEO. Chandra is currently Chief Executive Officer for NDTV Convergence & NDTV Networks.

Chandra has been associated with NDTV since 1994 and is one of India's best known anchorpersons. He presents 'The Big Fight', which has long been one of India's top rated news and current affairs programmes and 'Gadget Guru' along with several other special shows.

Previously, Vikram was the Managing Editor of NDTV Profit. As a special correspondent, he has extensively covered the Siachen & Kargil wars, and the conflict in Kashmir. Vikram has been named "Global Leader for Tomorrow" by the World Economic Forum in Davos and won the Indian Television Academy Award 2008 for "Best Anchor for a Talk Show" amongst other coveted recognitions.

In another major development in the history of the channel, Barkha Dutt's relationship with NDTV may soon undergo a big change and she might step down from Group Editor-English News; however, the nature of the new relationship could not be confirmed by the time of filing of the report.

According to the sources, the change in Barkha's relationship with the channel will not be announced with other changes and it may take some time. When contacted, Barkha denied any such change in relationship with the channel and termed the information as rubbish and wrong.

Followed by Barkha's denial, official spokesperson of NDTV Manisha Natarajan said, "The reports of Barkha stepping down as Group Editor are completely wrong and malicious. There is  no change in the role of Barkha or Srinivasan Jain in NDTV."

The face of fearless journalism, Barkha Dutt excels in news reportage and incisive analysis. She is renowned for her intrepid work in conflict reporting from Kashmir, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq and the Middle East. The winner of over 20 national and international awards, Barkha has been conferred with the Padma Shri for Journalism in 2008.

She started her journalistic career with NDTV and later rose to head the English news wing of the organization. She also writes a column for The Hindustan Times, called "Third Eye." In 2010 she was one of the journalists taped in the 2G lobbying Radia tapes controversy.

Sources further revealed that Managing Editor Srinivasan Jain is being shifted to Delhi from Mumbai. Currently his position will remain unchanged but he is slated to take over Group Editor role from Barkha very soon.

Based out of Mumbai, Jain has been associated with NDTV since 1995. Reporting on virtually every major national and international story, Sreenivasan specializes in reportage on terrorism, investigations and national politics. With a body of work varying from covering every major National and State Election in India, the Afghanistan war, the Sri Lanka conflict, and the 2000 Presidential Elections in the US, he has won national and international recognition for shows like 'Witness'.
